About Us

In the year of 2003, 10 (ten) young learners united and founded this public library for enlightening people with reading books, reading for pleasures. Salim Ullah, Fakor Uddin, Santosh Kumar Datta, Thowhidul Alam Pervez, Shihab Uddin, Nurul Alam, Shahjahan, Emran Ullah and Abdur Rahim led by Mohammad Erfan Ullah initiated to establish a public library like World Amity Library (WAL) at Dailpara, Thakurtala under Choto Moheshkhali in Cox's Bazar district, Bangladesh. The founders of this Library cherished a desire for a public library which may paly role as an intellectual powerhouse aspiring to meet the intellectual, educational, recreational, informational and cultural requirements of the people. 

On 10th October, 2021, the library was enlisted under the Department of Public Libraries (DPL), one of the agencies directed under the Ministry of Cultural. Mr. Rishikesh Paul, the librarian of the District Public Library of Cox's Bazar on behalf of DPL gave the enlisted Certificate in the name of World Amity Library to the General Secretary of WAL, Mr. Advocate Nurul Alam and Mr. Mohammad Helal Uddin.

Now, the Library is governed by the Executive Committee, consisted 15 members. The library is opened on 04:00P.M. and closed on 09:00 P.M. everyday in a week by the Librarian of WAL. Almost 20 readers/members come to WAL and get the opportunities/services from WAL. The Library is opened to common people. All are most welcome to come to WAL to read books, newspapers, journals and others.
